Winter is upon us! In Michigan, that means snow and ice.

1. Install an outdoor rug at your entrance, with a thicker pile, to help remove some salt and snow outside
2. Have an additional rug inside of the door to catch even more debris
3. Ask your family and guests to remove their shoes near your entrance
4. Place a shoe rack near the entrance to encourage and remind people to take off their shoes
5. Purchase a few pairs of inexpensive and washable slippers to offer guests
6. Vacuum your home every day and pay special attention to entryways
7. Wipe up excess snow and water as quickly as possible
