You may have read our money saving tips in our latest article “3 great ways to save money on your new flooring”.

One of those tips is to make sure that you are keeping proper care of your floors, and we’d like to tell you a bit more about that.

Nothing can save you money on flooring in Ann Arbor like making sure your new floor stays clean, well maintained, and looking new.

1. Read Your Warranty!

Reading your warranty is one of the most important things you can do to make sure your floor has the longest life possible. You want to make sure that you follow the manufacturer’s instructions so you don’t do anything damaging to your nice new floor!

Memorizing a manufacturer’s carpet cleaning guidelines might be a little dull, so give us a call and we’ll be more than happy to help you! 

2. Be Consistent!

Cleaning your floor “every once in a while” just doesn’t get the job done. It’s important to keep your floor spic and span. You can do this by vacuuming if you have a carpet, and and sweeping, dusting and polishing if you have a hardwood floor. 

It’s also important to get your floors professionally cleaned at least yearly, just to make sure you do everything to keep your floors clean, healthy, and well maintained.

3. Clean Up Spills Immediately!

This is another important tip to keep your floors a spot free and undamaged as possible. Make sure you clean up stains immediately and thoroughly. It may not always be possible to get to a stain or spill right when it happens, but trying your best will ensure you keep it as good as it can be.

Ann Arbor Carpets will be making an appearance at the Local Home Improvement Expo, hosted by Anderson Paint Co.

Each material has its pros and cons, and every homeowner’s situation is different enough to warrant a look into which carpet suits them best.
